Join me this Saturday at the KPBS San Diego Book Festival!

From KPBS:

Hello,

It's almost here - the inaugural KPBS San Diego Book Festival! The event will take place on the USD campus, 5998 Alcalá Park, San Diego, CA 92110, this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please wear layered clothing and comfortable shoes, as the event is mostly outdoors. We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle with you, as there are water refill stations throughout campus.

Here’s what you need to know to prepare for a fantastic day. Visit the book festival website to see the panel schedule, stage schedules, FAQs and more.

  • Upon arrival (directions, transportation and parking info below!), make your first stop at one of the Information Booths (at either the West or East festival entrance) to pick up a program with the full schedule.·
  • Check out the panel schedule and stage schedules to help chart your day. Note, some panels are ticketed. Tickets still remain for authors Larry Charles and Sarah Ahn – snag yours while they last! Most panels are not ticketed and will be first come, first served. Please join lines early to secure a seat. Read more about panels, tickets and signings in our FAQ
  • Make your way to the Writers’ Block to explore the works of over 70 author exhibitors and connect with local writing groups. Next, head to Paperback Park to support our San Diego independent booksellers and community partners. Don’t forget to bring a tote bag with you for books and unique literary gifts only found at the festival!
  • On the Main Stage, catch live music, poetry, Ziggy Marley, the One Book, One San Diego announcement (at 1:15 pm!) and much more. Visit Storytime Square and the Youth Reading Stage for author story times, fun activities, and appearances from beloved PBS Kids characters.
  • Bring your lunch, or treat yourself to something tasty from our food vendors or on-campus eateries.

Whether you plan to browse for your next great reads, enjoy live performances and author discussions, or simply soak in the festival atmosphere, there is plenty for everyone to enjoy.

For inquiries about accessibility, please email bookfestival@kpbs.org at your earliest convenience.

Printing tickets is NOT necessary. We strongly encourage you to download the Eventbrite app to manage your tickets easily. The app is free for iOS and Android - search Eventbrite in the app store.
